"Loraine is an outstanding instructor-if you're thinking about learning to dance you can't go wrong.  My wife had done some dancing in her past and dancing is something I had never done, but wanted to learn -- so I snuck in several lessons before having my wife join the lessons. 

Well, my two left feet walked in the door, and Loraine made a very awkward thing for me immediately fun.  It's very evident that she knows what she's doing, cares you have fun, has patience for your learning pace, and will always find a way to get you past those hard points where you get stuck--I have a lot :).  

When my wife joined, one she was very surprised I had learned some dancing in such a short time, we ended up taking lessons with Loraine for 10 months. If we didn't move away we'd still be taking lessons with Loraine -- we had a blast every time we went in for our lesson.  This was a couples thing for us - no wedding to prep, just great fun.  Loraine was always ready to push us (we are rather competitive with each other) -- and when you're learning to dance and improve, there is no such thing as not getting frustrated.  Again she helped us work through those moments and then always made sure fun was the name of the game.  Loraine taught us Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, Cha-Cha, Salsa, and Tango. We ended up performing in a dance showcase in which she helped us create a great performance.  She has my highest recommendation as a dance instructor-you will learn and enjoy the new dance skills."

"Loraine is an awesome dance instructor! She helped us prepare for our wedding, and we enjoyed dancing so much that we continued taking lessons with her afterwards for over a year (until pregnancy difficulties and new baby got in the way for us). She was very patient and made us feel confident despite our lack of any prior dancing experience, but kept things challenging as well. Most of all, she made sure that we had fun, and we always looked forward to our dancing nights!"

"When my husband and I got engaged and we started to envision our wedding day, one of first things both of us knew was that we weren’t going to do the middle school, rocking side-to-side dance, for our first dance. Of course this could only mean one thing – dance lessons!

We liked Loraine from the moment we met her. She was very open, warm, and funny, and knew what she was talking about. She never talked down to us because we had never danced traditionally before. She was very patient and kind, and demonstrated each partners moves one at a time and then watched as we danced together. She was very good at evaluating our progress, pushing a little when we needed it, and giving us enough time to work through each new step and make sure we were comfortable before moving on. The way she started with basic steps and then incrementally added complexity made learning and practicing easy. Each new step would build on what we had learned before. She was also very honest and told us that if we really wanted to learn to dance, we would have to practice at home, which we gladly did; and every week we were eager to show her our progress. We trusted her honesty and her opinion, and we knew that when she said we looked good, we really did!

As everyone who has ever planned a wedding knows, it is a stressful time with a ton of things needing to be done all the time, plus with both of us working full-time, it felt like we were always busy. But no matter how tired or cranky we were on the ride over to take our dance lessons with Loraine, once we stepped on the dance floor, it was heavenly. We got to spend forty-five minutes in each other’s arms just doing something for us. (And a bonus was that we were breaking in our wedding shoes!) It always made us smile and we left grinning each time saying how glad we were that we were doing this. Even practicing at home was fun because this was a joint adventure and we were doing this one act just for us. We absolutely loved our dance lessons and loved working with Loraine. We still practice because we don’t want to lose our moves, and when we went on our honeymoon a few months after our wedding, we easily danced together with all the knowledge that Loraine imparted onto us. We do plan on taking more lessons from Loraine in the future. We cannot recommend Loraine Gehm highly enough. She is incredible!"

"We worked with Loraine on a waltz for our wedding dance in Spring 2016.  While both of us enjoy dancing, we had never previously taken formal lessons, so it was a new experience for us.  Throughout the entire learning process, Loraine was always attentive, patient, and professional.  She never made us feel rushed, and always took the time to make sure we were fully comprehending the steps before moving on.  It was a lot of fun, and we look forward to working with Loraine again in the future!"
